Old family photos can really bring the story of an ancestor to life and online census records held a wealth of information to help us trace our families so much further back that we ever thought possible. Census records can tell us things like:

where they lived

who else lived in the house
-
where they were born
-
what their occupation was
A visit to Preston Hall Museum gave our project participants a feel for Victorian life, here are a few photos taken with more to follow :
